Delete your Rupta account
This page explains how to delete your Rupta account, what gets erased, and what may be retained for legal or operational reasons. Account deletion is permanent.
1. How to request deletion
From the app (recommended)
- Open Rupta and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll to Danger zone and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm when prompted. Deletion starts immediately.
By email
If you can't access the app, send a request from the email associated with your Rupta account to rupta.app@gmail.com with the subject "Account deletion request". We may ask for additional verification before processing it.
2. What's permanently deleted
When your account is deleted, the following is erased from our active systems:
- Your profile (username, display name, avatar, bio, city, date of birth, preferred categories, activity styles).
- Your quest completions, including photos, videos, descriptions, ratings, and associated AURA records.
- Comments and "respect" reactions you left on other people's completions.
- Your friendships, blocked users list, and pending friend requests.
- Group memberships. Groups you owned are reassigned or deleted according to the group's settings.
- Push notification tokens registered for your devices.
- Your Apple or Google authentication identifier for our app.
3. What may be retained
For legal, security, or operational reasons, we may retain some information after deletion:
- Encrypted backups for up to 30 days after deletion, before automatic rotation overwrites them.
- Anonymized log data with no link to your account, retained for security and statistical purposes.
- Billing and tax records (such as subscription transaction metadata) for as long as applicable law requires. These records don't contain payment card data; payments are processed by Apple or Google.
- Aggregated data (for example, the total number of completions for a given quest) that no longer identifies you.
4. Cancelling your subscription
Deleting your Rupta account does not automatically cancel an active Rupta Pro subscription. Subscription billing is handled by Apple or Google, and only those platforms can cancel it. Before deleting your account, cancel your subscription:
- iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Rupta Pro → Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Rupta Pro → Cancel.
If you delete your account first and cancel the subscription later, you'll keep being charged until you cancel it via Apple or Google.
5. Timing
Deletion starts as soon as you confirm it. Your profile and content stop being accessible to other users immediately. Removal from active systems is typically completed within 30 days; backups with residual data are rotated within an additional 30 days.
